General Assembly of AEM

Madam, Sir, Dear AEM members,

As announced previously, the General Assembly of the European Association of Elected Representatives from Mountain Regions will be held on the 9th and 10th July 2009 in Turin, at Piedmont Region headquarters.

Your coming, as a member of the AEM, is necessary for the good inner-working of the Association.

We strongly believe that our General Assembly would be a great occasion to debate on current political issues.

Indeed, these political issues are crucial for mountain regions : results of the European Parliament elections, and in coming months, the nomination of a new European Commission, strategic political debates (CAP, Cohesion Policy, Energy plan, multilevel governance, etc.), in the context of the current economic crisis and preoccupying environmental considerations.

Please find attached the detailed agenda and the registration bulletin, we would be grateful to get your answer before July the 2nd 2009.
