The European Parliament adopted on September 21st, 2010 during its plenary session a resolution on the “European strategy for the economic and social development of mountain regions, islands and sparsely populated areas”.
The meeting of the” Intergroup on Mountains, Islands and sparsely populated areas”, was organized on Tuesday, October the 5th and dedicated on the topic: The Reform of the CAP and specific territories.
The creation of the intergroup « mountains, islands and sparsely populated regions » is a major step for the European democracy and for the efficiency of European policies.
Here is a contribution from AEM in the frame of the works done before the writing of the Green paper on territorial cohesion presented by the European Commission on the 6th of October. This first analysis of the challenges of Territorial cohesion gives the opportunity to frame the debate and to prepare the official answer of AEM.
